CONVERTING A PHOTO TO BLACK AND WHITE

The easiest way to convert to a black and white photo is to go up to your menu bar click on

ENHANCE > CONVERT TO BLACK AND WHITE

Take note of these radio buttons. By clicking them off or on, you will get different variations of black and white. Try them out because you might like one of these better then the default that the program chooses for you.

Also, you could get a black and white effect by using an adjustment layer (we go over the adjustment layer for SEPIA TONES). If you decide to use an adjustment layer, pick the hue and saturation choice, then slide the saturation slider all of the way to the left.
